I’m a wife and mom of 3 (2 of the 3 were boys…).
I have had to clean up a mess or two. Some messes are more difficult than others. I like cleaners that work so I am not prone to buying something just because it costs less but I do love to save money.
So… Here’s a great cleaner you can make with things you probably already have at home. Only 2 ingredients… Liquid soap and baking soda. That’s it.
You can use whatever soap you want. Make sure it is something you would use on your dishes so that it’s more versatile. You can use your favorite dish soap, brand does not matter. (I use liquid castile soap.) Mix 1 part liquid soap and 3 parts baking soda. (1/4 cup soap and 3/4 cup baking soda). If you want to thin it down a little, add water, a few drops at a time until you get the consistency you want. Easy! AND cheap! You can use this on your stove, countertop, pots and pans, bathtub, sink…. Remember to rinse.
Miller Man uses it as a degreaser, and a hand cleaner (I keep some under the sink just for that purpose since he prefers to stick his fingers in it. YUCK!). Store in an air tight container. (Canning jars work great. And they look ‘rustic’ so I use them for many things.) If it dries out just add water again until you get it back to the consistency you want.
I use this all the time. Works GREAT and costs pennies. A store bought version of this costs about $4. Put this one in the WIN column!
Time for coffee…
